Funeral Parade of Roses (Original title: 薔薇の葬列, Bara no Sōretsu, 1969, directed by Toshio Matsumoto. English subtitles)

This is a Japanese drama art film set in 1960s Tokyo and takes place in the Genet, a gay bar that employs transgender women to service customers. The story is about Eddie, a young transgender woman that works at the bar, Gonda, a drug dealer that manages the bar and Leda, the madame or “lead girl” of the bar.

** Trigger warnings: domestic violence, child abuse, drug use, bodily harm **

Doors open 19.00, movie starts at 19.30 and is 1h45m. After the screening we will have a short discussion. DM or email us for the location (boekenwinkelopstand@riseup.net)

Accessibility information: the event is on the ground floor. There is a (steep) ramp for wheel chair accessibility. The opstand library and books are upstairs and only accessible with stairs.
We encourage everyone to wear a face mask, do a self test if you have cold-like symptoms and stay home if you have Covid. Face masks and self tests are available.

Join us for an inclusive, beginner friendly Board Game Night. Or just to chill out and say hi.

It will still also be regular opening night, so you can also still check out the libraries and zines and stuff.

social anxiety is een ding en veel van ons raken ook snel overprikkeld. Als je wilt komen, een je hebt specifieke benodigdheden, laat het weten! er is iig een ruimte met couches waar je ook kunt zitten. de ingang en de toiletten zijn helaas beperkt toegankelijk voor rolstoelgebruikers (in specifiek zijn het de brandveiligheidsdeuren, die zwaar zijn, en de ingangsdeur welke alleen met een handle naar buiten toe opengaat.)
🌬 Covid: je mag je eigen masker meenemen, anders hebben we ook maskers en zelftests op locatie, maar wees solidair en doe eentje voordat je komt. Er is geen maximum aan mensen, maar afhankelijk van hoeveel er komen gaan we even aanpassen en kijken hoe we het het veiligst kunnen maken!

Beste mensen,

tijdens deze globale pandemie willen we graag nog geopened zijn.
Wij houden ons aan de maatregelen van de Overheid in CoVid-19 tijden, dus kom graag langs.
Klop dan even aan de deur, dan doen we open voor je!
Gewoon donderdag vanaf 5 tot 9 en vrijdag vanaf 3 tot 7.
Zeep en doekjes staan klaar, maar ook leuke nieuwe boeken!

Als je in Den Haag in quarantine bent en graag een specifieke boek wilt lezen, stuur gewoon een bericht of mail, dan kunnen we het naar jouw toebrengen!
Q time is reading time!

The Anarchist Bookstore will be opened on Thursday (17-21) and Friday (15-19).
If you want to get a nice book, we got some new amazing books – feel free to drop by.
There is soap and we’ll open the door for you if you knowck – we are aware of this global pandemic, but we also think social isolation (and also boredom 🙂 ) is a problem, even though we see the necessity of social distancing in times like this. With taking good care of the requirements, we hope you still wanna come along, if you feel comfortable enough.

Dit Maand hebben wij Animal Liberation (Front) Movie Month! Deze week starten wij donderdag met ‘The Animal People’ (2019).

Geopend vanaf 17.00, film begint om 20.00 uur!
Er zal ook een discussie zijn.
