We are kicking off a summer book club with the book: The solutions are already here. This will be the first session. Come over to grab a copy of the book, to meet the other book nerds and to discuss how often we would like to meet and how we want to organise this. Boardgame night
After a well deserved break we are back! We will be hosting a boardgame night on the 10th of July. Join us for an inclusive, beginner friendly Board Game Night. Or just to chill out and say hi. It will still also be regular opening night, so you can also still check out the libraries and zines and stuff.
We will be open every Monday 19:00 to 22:00 moving forwards. Don’t forget to contact us over email or instagram to get the address of our temporary safe(r) space.

Nee tegen WRS! Sex work solidarity
The Dutch government is trying to pass extremely repressive legislation against sex workers: the WRS (Wet Regulering Sekswerk) and the WGTS (Wet Gemeentelijk Toezicht Seksbedrijven).
For both of these laws the government is currently running online citizen consultations. Please take a bit of time to support sex workers by letting the government know that imposing intrusive and unjust regulations on them is a bad idea.

In short:
The WRS would force all sex workers to request a license with their municipality and be registered in a central sex worker database.
Sex workers are already often discriminated against, being registered as a sex worker by the government only increases this risk, as well as creating the risk of data leaks.
Municipalities will be able to give or refuse licenses as they see fit, including the possibility of refusing to give out any at all, essentially criminalizing sex work.
This will not keep sex workers safe or stop people from doing sex work; it will just make sex workers more vulnerable, increase the risk of blackmail and exploitation, as well as lead to fines, evictions and deportations when working without a license.

Hey everyone, it’s been a while since you heard from us. In January, we had to move out of our space at Beatrijsstraat 12 where we have been part of De Samenscholing for the past years. We are lucky enough that we can currently collaborate with a different space in The Hague, where we can temporarily organize.
Our first event after the move is happening this Friday, February 17th, from 6pm to 9pm. It will be open to anyone who identifies as queer or as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community. Shoot us a message for the location, and please stay tuned for more updates on our future opening times and events.
After having pressure put on them from many sides, the Municipality of The Hague has agreed to provide De Samenscholing with a new location. So far, they haven’t proposed anything viable, but we will continue to fight for a space where we can organize autonomously.

Hoi allemaal, het is alweer een tijdje geleden dat jullie iets van ons hebben gehoord. In januari hebben we moeten vertrekken uit onze plek aan de Beatrijsstraat 12 waar we de afgelopen jaren deel hebben uitgemaakt van De Samenscholing. Gelukkig kunnen we momenteel samenwerken met een andere plek in Den Haag, waar we de Opstand tijdelijk kunnen voortzetten.
Ons eerste evenement na de verhuizing vindt aanstaande vrijdag 17 februari plaats, van 18.00 tot 21.00 uur. Het is open voor iedereen die zich identificeert als queer of als lid van de LHBTQIA+ gemeenschap. Stuur ons een berichtje voor de locatie, en hou onze socials in de gaten voor informatie over onze toekomstige openingstijden en evenementen.
Nadat er van veel kanten druk op ze is uitgeoefend, heeft de gemeente Den Haag alsnog toegezegd De Samenscholing een nieuwe locatie te gaan bieden. Tot nu toe hebben ze nog niets fatsoenlijks voorgesteld, maar we zullen blijven vechten voor een ruimte waar we ons autonoom kunnen organiseren.
Farewell to De Samenscholing POSTPONED!!!
!! Attention !!The last day of Opstand at the Samenscholing is postponed to Saturday 14 January from 4pm to 8pm.
On the 12th, we will be open as usual.
We decided to postpone the event because that same evening at 7:30pm, a commission of the city council will be meeting about the Samenscholing.
It will be possible to go there and speak about why the Samenscholing should not be evicted, so part of the collective will go to this meeting and thus would not be able to make it to the event.
If you too care about the Samenscholing, we encourage you to go to the city hall on Thursday evening as well.
Important to know is that you can only speak in Dutch, and the council members can ask you questions.

De laatste dag van de Opstand in de Samenscholing is verplaatst naar zaterdag 14 januari van 16.00 tot 20:00 uur.
Op de 12e zijn we gewoon open.
We hebben besloten het evenement uit te stellen omdat er diezelfde avond om 19:30 uur een commissievergadering is over de Samenscholing.
Tijdens deze vergadering is het mogelijk om in te spreken over waarom de Samenscholing niet ontruimd moet worden, dus een deel van het collectief zal naar de vergadering gaan en zou dan niet naar het evenement kunnen komen.
Als je de Samenscholing ook belangrijk vindt, moedigen we je aan om donderdagavond ook naar het stadhuis te gaan.
Belangrijk om te weten is dat je alleen in het Nederlands kan inspreken en dat de raadsleden ook vragen kunnen stellen.

Oproep: kom 28 december naar de rechtszaak van De Samenscholing!
De Samenscholing, het laatste zelfgeorganiseerde, alternatieve sociaal en cultureel centrum van Den Haag, moet van de gemeente uiterlijk 6 januari 2023 leeg zijn. Wij vertrekken natuurlijk niet zomaar. Op 28 december 2022 worden we verwacht in de rechtszaal, en we roepen iedereen op om te komen uit solidariteit met De Samenscholing.
De gemeente meent van ons af te kunnen raken door te zeggen dat ze “hebben gekeken” naar vervangende opties, maar dat geen van hun 780 panden geschikt zijn voor de initiatieven uit De Samenscholing. Tegelijkertijd moet het plan tot herontwikkeling van ons pand, waar de buurt niet op zit te wachten, waar de vergunningen en de subsidies niet rond voor zijn, koste wat het kost doorgaan. En wij moeten maar “niet zo moeilijk doen” en gewoon vertrekken. Maar waarheen als we geen andere ruimte hebben?
Al ruim zeven jaar vormt De Samenscholing een belangrijke plek in Den Haag voor activisten, kunstenaars, buurtbewoners, muzikanten, veganisten, en mensen met een kleine portemonnee. Een plek waar mensen zich kunnen ontplooien en organiseren zonder dat het altijd geld moet kosten. Wij geven ons niet zonder strijd over aan ontruiming van een bruisend sociaal centrum voor gentrificatie!
Wij hopen jullie te zien op 28 december om 12:00 uur bij de zitting in de rechtbank aan Prins Clauslaan 60.

Call: come to the court hearing of De Samenscholing on 28 December!
De Samenscholing, The Hague’s last self-organized, alternative social and cultural center, has been ordered to leave by January 6, 2023 by the municipality. Of course, they won’t get us out that easily. On December 28, we are expected in court, and we call on everyone to attend the hearing in solidarity with De Samenscholing.
The municipality thinks it can get rid of us by saying that they have “looked” at alternative options, but that none of their 780 properties are suitable for the initiatives from De Samenscholing. At the same time, the plan to redevelop our building, which the neighborhood doesn’t want, which lacks the permits and subsidies, must go ahead at any price. And we should just “not be so difficult” and leave. But where to, if we don’t have a different space?
For over seven years, De Samenscholing has been an important place in The Hague for activists, artists, people from the neighborhood, musicians, vegans, and those with small wallets. A place where people can develop and organize without a price tag. We will not accept the eviction of a vibrant social center for gentrification without a fight!

TRANS Dance PROM Destruction! 16.12.2022 – 20.00
Slip on your best dancing boots and pull out the prom look of your secret teenage dreams! On the 16th of december we are organizing a Trans Dance Night! Make all the prom shenanigans come true – without any of the cis-het nonesense! 
Inspired by new beginnings and throwing out the tried and tired cis-hetero norms and normativity, we invite you to celebrate prom! However, focused on US trans people being able to unapologetically be and celebrate ourselves, instead of having to hide behind some uncomfortable mask.
This is an event for all trans folks, and of course we’re looking at you too wonderful non-binary, genderqueer etc. people!
(Cool cis people are welcome too, and by cool we mean you’re here to dance and and prioritize the safety and joy of Trans folks 🙂 )

T-RREx – Trans Radical Resource Exchange #2

Yes, it’s really happening! As those of you who were there last time may have heard already, there will be a second T-RREx on Sunday 18 December 2022.
Some general information about the event for those who will be joining us for the first time: T-RREx is for all transfem, transmasc, non-binary, or otherwise trans/gender variant people in need of information about hormones, self injection/medication, (DIY) medical transition, or any other trans or gender related subjects.
Part of the event will be a separate space where you can learn about hormone injections and how to do them safely. You can also do your own injection if you want to. We will not be providing anyone with any medication, so don’t forget to BYOH (bring your own hormones).
This time, there will be one workshop of one hour about injectible hormones and self-injections, from 15:00-16:00.
By coming together to exchange around hormones and self-medication, we want to break the isolation and stigma that often surrounds that process. Together, we can try to make self-medication as safe as possible by providing accurate information, safe supplies, and general help and support for those who need it.
If any of the above gets you excited, or you just want to come and meet some other trans folks from the Hague, feel free to come and hang out!

Ja, het gaat echt gebeuren! Wie er de vorige keer bij was heeft het misschien al gehoord: er komt een tweede T-RREx op zondag 18 december 2022.
Wat informatie voor mensen die er nog niet bij zijn geweest: T-RREx is voor alle transfeminiene, transmasculiene, nonbinaire of op een andere manier trans of genderdiverse mensen die informatie nodig hebben over hormonen, zelfinjectie/zelfmedicatie, (DIY) medische transitie, of welk ander trans of gendergerelateerd onderwerp dan ook.
Onderdeel van het evenement is een aparte ruimte waar je kan leren over hormooninjecties en hoe je die veilig zet. Je kan daar ook je eigen injectie doen als je dat wil. Wij zullen geen medicatie ter beschikking stellen, dus vergeet niet om je eigen hormonen mee te nemen.
Dit keer zal er één workshop van één uur zijn over injecteerbare hormonen en zelfinjecties, van 15:00 tot 16:00.
Door samen te komen om ervaringen uit te wisselen met hormonen en zelfmedicatie willen we de isolatie en het stigma dat daar vaak mee samengaat doorbreken. Samen kunnen we proberen om zelfmedicatie zo veilig mogelijk te maken, door accurate informatie, veilige benodigdheden, en algemene hulp en ondersteuning beschikbaar te maken aan degenen die dat nodig hebben.
Als je hier enthousiast van wordt, of als je gewoon gezellig met andere transmensen uit Den Haag en omgeving wil chillen, kom vooral langs!
